About Us
The Federation of Senior Citizens’ Association, Punjab (FEDSEN – PUNJAB) came into existence on 9th November, 2008 to promote and help formation of Associations of Senior Citizens in towns and villages of Punjab and to forge fraternity and close contact among the federated Associations. It was formally launched on 30th January, 2010 by Chief Minister, Punjab, S. Parkash Singh Badal.

The mandate of the Federation is to promote and uphold dignity of Senior citizens, to promote family values and to advocate for economic, social, health, continuing education, work opportunities and cultural needs of Senior Citizens and to convince the decision and opinion makers in Government, Business Concerns, NGOs and Academia of social, economic and legal rights of the senior citizens. We may also make it known that our demands are not as a charity but for contributions and services to the society and the family we have made during prime of our life and many of us are continuing to do so even in old age. The federation also promotes welfare programmes at Association and at individual level by the senior citizens for the society, including students and the aged who are needy and economically not so well.

FEDSEN-Punjab is a registered body (Registration No2382/ 2008-09) under Societies Registration Act 1860. The Federation is exempted from Income Tax under section 11 and 12. The donations to the Federation are entitled to 50% income tax exemption under section 80 G of the Income Tax Act.

The Federation has now federated associations in most of the important towns and in a few villages in about 70 % of the Districts of the State and many more are in the pipe line. During the current year we hope to have associations in all important towns (more than one association with in big towns/cities) and substantial number in villages in all the districts.
